Our
Story

SINYA on Lone Man Creek is a secluded and luxurious retreat located atop a ridge overlooking Lone Man Creek in the Texas Hill Country which consists of one uniquely, luxurious, authentic, custom-designed safari tent from South Africa. We proudly call our tent SERAFINA.

SERAFINA offering 735 square feet of refined, fully enclosed space with insulated canvas walls and climate control, is a sanctuary of comfort and tranquility.

SERAFINA is a dream in the making, similar to our original tent, Sinya.

Our original tent, Sinya, was also an authentic, custom-designed safari tent from South Africa and embodied the resilient spirit of its namesake, Sinya, an orphaned baby elephant rescued by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in southeastern Kenya. In 2009, Lynn Gallimore made a memorable trip to Tanzania, where she met and was inspired by the little elephant, Sinya. Soon after, Lynn brought a little piece of Africa to Wimberley, Texas, and SINYA on Lone Man Creek was created. SINYA was opened to guests and “the magic of Sinya” was shared.

In 2020, Susan Weems Smith became owner and operator of SINYA and continues sharing the peace and restoration of SINYA. The resilience of SINYA continues to prevail, but mainly with the rebuild and resurrection of SERAFINA. In October 2025 a storm destroyed our original tent, Sinya, causing a full shut down and complete rebuild, thus, introducing SERAFINA.

SERAFINA rises from a deep love and respect for Sinya inviting you into a realm of luxury and graceful restoration. Here intentional living and holistic well-being flourish in a sacred space – one where you connect more deeply with yourself and with the loved ones you cherish. SINYA on Lone Man Creek is not just a place to "spend time away from home". It is meant to provide rest, healing, joy and peace in the beauty of nature.

Come and experience the magic of peace and restoration!
